OUR STORY

Hello, I'm Samira Campos, a Brazilian nomad at heart. Welcome to the ethnic, ethical, and boho world of ethne. Ethne was born of a dream: traveling to the most exotic corners of the world, uncovering the stories behind fabrics, and connecting with artisans who keep their traditions alive.
My journey spans 30 years as a journalist for Globo TV, where I immersed myself in the fashion world. But it was in Jaipur, India, that I discovered my true passion. A visit to the Block Printing Museum sparked my love for the ancient art of prints, crafted with hand-carved wooden stamps—an ancestral technique that has become the core of our brand identity.
Launched in 2017, ethne, meaning ‘foreign nations’ in Greek, celebrates the meeting of cultures through techniques like block printing, suzani embroidery, shibori, tie-dye, and handloom weaving. We collaborate directly with more than 500 artisans from diverse ethnic backgrounds and traditions—from Rajasthan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan to Morocco, Ghana, Brazil, and Ecuador.
In 2024, a new chapter began with the arrival of Denise Damásio as my partner and ethne’s CEO. Her energy and vision brought renewed purpose to the brand, aligning our ideas and deepening our connection with artisans. Together, we continue to expand ethne’s positive impact by preserving ancestral techniques and promoting sustainability in every piece we create.
In 2025, we open our first international store at the Anopura Hotel in Jaipur. This space perfectly embodies ethne’s relaxed yet sophisticated lifestyle. The store is a cultural hub of carefully curated selections with unique pieces from around the world. By blending diverse traditions with a touch of Brazilian flair, the store honors local heritage while staying true to ethne’s values. It also strengthens our ties with local artisans offering an authentic, immersive experience for those seeking soulful designs.
We are passionate about boho caftans and dresses made from the finest lightweight cottons, pure mulberry silk, and handwoven ikats. Our mission is to bring you handmade pieces crafted from natural fibers, renewing ancient traditions with designs that inspire creativity, color, and positive energy.
With love,
Samira Campos
